Company Visit to Crowne Plaza Hotel

The quote highlights  the essence of Crowne Plaza Hotel , a five star property catering to business and leisure travelers. Spread across 16 floors with an occupancy of 183 rooms, the hotel is one of the options for people planning to spend time out in outskirts of Delhi.
A group of 12 undergraduate students studying Entrepreneurship visited Crowne Plaza on February 15 to learn more about the hospitality industry.
The visit began with the supervisor taking the students on a tour of the different departments of the hotel. En route the supervisor  oriented the students with the hotel’s history and growth, facilities and  achievements. This was followed  by a tour of the laundry section , kitchen , Human Resources Department , banquets , business rooms , suite , restaurants like Spice and Connections , Adya- The Spa , Gymnasium and the pool area. The students were also made aware of the responsible business practices being followed by Crowne Plaza.

Considering , the hotel is located in the outskirts of Delhi , the students were inquisitive to know the reasons of people choosing the hotel for their holiday. In addition , they tried to understand how Crowne Plaza has an edge over its competitors and the marketing efforts the  chain does to promote the hotel located in a comparatively off beat location.
The students were enamored by the glitz of the industry that dips its wings in luxury.The visit was a great learning experience for students to get a birds eye view of different industries during these visits.  The students immensely benefited from this experience and  are looking forward to a visit of another popular chain to understand and compare the two enterprises and present an analysis.

IILM Meet Up – Industries, Alumni & Students


IILM Lodhi Road Campus
organized a Meetup for the students, alumni and top industries for professional networking. The IILM Meetup took place on the 10th, 11th & 13th of December at Lodhi Road Campus. Respected alumni, students and industries were invited to be part of IILM Meetup on all the three days. As a B-School, IILM believes in building lifelong relationships by connecting students with college alumni. The campus was enthralled to meet the alumni at Lodhi Road Campus, accompanied by the students.

As part of professional networking, the industries visited the campus came from a diverse set of industry sector. Campus invited over 21 industries as part of IILM Meetup,  to name a few – E-commerce: PayTM, SnapDeal & Oxigen Wallet, Media: CNBC TV18, Dentsu & The Times of India, Real Estate: Indiabulls Home Loans & Colliers International, Banking: Yes Bank, HDFC & Kotak, FMCG: ITC & Godrej Consumer Production.  These companies play a significant role in making a strong participation for IILM students in terms of final campus placement actions. Companies made its presence on the 10th of December, as the evening was gradually gripped in support of discussions and talk sessions with fellow faculty members and the students on the current scenario of market conditions in terms of money, investments and future growth.

The IILM Meetup evening on the 11th and 13th of December was filled with the presence of alumni and friends returning back to the campus with experiences to share with current students and faculty members. Campus was filled with excitement, memories and enchanting talks of the days gone by. To make the evening more memorable, college also invited a music band Firaaq, which made the environment nostalgic enough to remember. It was indeed an unforgettable evening for everyone as part of IILM family. IILM is definitely looking forward to organize more such events in near future for the students and alumni.

A Successful Placement Expedition at Deloitte | IILM Campus Placements

The ongoing placement drive at IILM witnessed another successful week where 6 students from the PGDM 2014-16 batch got job offers from Deloitte – one of the biggest consulting firms in the world.

Aarman Singh, Aanchal Gaba, Raveesh Tuteja, Ratika Gupta and Rahul Singla made it to the finishing line after clearing four rounds of strenuous selection process. The students have been offered a CTC of 5.35 lacs each. Each student sharing a different excitement and sense of achievement within.

It’s a great learning experience for the students, setting up a benchmark for the future placements drive. This kind of exposure to complex insights of some major sectors across the industries is definitely a threshold for IILM students. This is what one expects on an industrial placement drive, taking place every year with some major professional services firms. One of the successfully placed students, Armaan Singh from Lodhi Road Campus, says, “It was an enthralling experience for me. Meeting some enthusiastic recruiters, with different backgrounds and job offers in hand definitely gave a much a clearer presentation of industrial expectations and reality. I am eager to start with my corporate journey with Deloitte.”

Highlighting the fundamentals of Deloitte placements, it started with aptitude test and thereafter had four rounds of interview. The faculty at IILM as part of business curriculum program, ensured the application of every single effort with the help of a strong mentoring sessions, helping students understand the basics required to face interview sessions. The requirement from Deloitte primarily focused on English listening and reading, followed up by an interview round. It is the business proficiency that was expected out of students from the company recruiters’ team.
